    Ideally, we strive to complete the process within 6-8 weeks, however, unforeseen circumstances in certain transfers can delay the process up to 12 weeks.

    Your attorney will advise you accordingly with regard to clauses in the Purchase and Sale Agreement and as to the other steps in the process. It is a safeguard to have an attorney involved in the process to ensure that all is above board and that your rights as a seller or purchaser are protected.

    Disbursements are the payments from a fund or account in terms of expenses, and do not form part of the “fee” charged for services rendered by the attorney.

    The buyer will be responsible for transfer fees due to the attorney, as well as bond registration costs due to a bond registration attorney, if undertaking a mortgage loan with a financial institute.
